The Aspen Story

The parallels between Aspen Group and the strangely shaped leaf from which it takes its name are many. A legend that has flourished amongst native Americans claims that the fragile, trembling movements of the leaf symbolizes the failure of the Aspen leaf to bow even to the presence of the Great Spirit. Aspen began as a small two employee firm in April 1988. It entered into the world of entrepreneurship as an embryo surrounded by staffing giants. Aspen trembled in their presence but did not bow. Inspired by visions of exemplary service and motivated by innovative concepts and service applications, Aspen has, over the years, grown strong and now supplies more than 500 employees on any given day of the year. The tremble remains, however, as Aspen adjusts and readjusts its service offerings in order to address the needs of a cyclical economy. Indeed, it is this tremor that drives Aspen's employees to excel. It is this tremor that reminds Aspen of its connectedness with a broader universe and it is this tremor which reminds Aspen to retain reverence in the face of its many accomplishments.

But, the commonality between Aspen and the Aspen tree extends beyond the boundaries of the mythological to the arena of the biological. Students of botany are aware that the Aspen tree is often selected to assist in reforestation during times of fire. Aspen Group, Inc. is also, in this respect, like the tree.

Aspen's motto is one of service. When our clients experience cataclysmic change, we remain in place, we strengthen our support, and we seek to serve as an anchor of support as these companies seek to rebuild.

Those who specialize in forestry have also observed another characteristic of the Aspen tree –it protects its underlings, those newly seeded Aspen trees that are seeking to claim their place in the soil of life. Aspen Group, Inc's history and current practices also reflects these traits.

Aspen's growth has been exponential. Twice cited by INC. magazines as one of the nation's fastest growing firms, Aspen has not merely celebrated its success and/or confronted its challenges, Aspen has also sought to assist new businesses that have joined the industry as they traverse their own growth pathway.

A 100% woman-owned private corporation, Aspen's growth and development has occurred under the extraordinary leadership of Armentha “Mike” Cruise, a human resources manager who worked in the private sector before operationalizing Aspen in 1988. Initially formed as a temporary agency, Aspen is now a full-service human resources firm that offers cutting-edge solutions that extend far beyond its initial service boundaries. Aspen offers services in the areas of strategic planning, needs assessment, project management and development, training, recruitment services, conference and workshop planning, and much more.

Yet, Aspen also continues to offer staffing support through each of its divisions. We urge you to contact our representatives and discover more about the Aspen story. More importantly, visit one of our locations and determine how Aspen Group, Inc. can address your needs.
